RAWEN BALMAÑA

An avid caver, outdoor and photography enthusiast, Rawen Balmaña enjoys ridgewalking around limestone fields looking for 'hole in the ground'. Exploration being a never ending tradition among speleologist drove him into cave cartography just to answer queries on where a passage might connect or terminates, all in the name of curiosity. Advocating on safe and responsible caving, he is actively involved in educating communities near or on karst areas in the importance of caves and cave resources to their existence. He undoubtably believes that protecting our caves is the key to conserving our aquifers, our streams of life. Caving took him in different places, on breaks he makes his cut in travel and landscape photography. He helped organize a group called Balincaguin Conservancy, beer being the club's currency, they specializes in cave photography, exploration and cartography.
